Biography

Michael Crotty is Assistant Professor of Dance at the ³Ô¹Ï´ïÈË School of Music and Performing Arts. Michael received his BFA in Dance from the Ohio State ³Ô¹Ï´ïÈË, Diploma from CODARTS Conservatory in the Netherlands, and an MFA in Dance from the ³Ô¹Ï´ïÈË of Utah. His theater-dances have been commissioned and produced for The Los Angeles Contemporary Dance Company, Columbia College, The Utah Museum of Fine Arts, California State ³Ô¹Ï´ïÈË, The ³Ô¹Ï´ïÈË of Tampa, and The Los Angeles County Museum of Art.

Michael has performed and collaborated with the Montreal Symphony, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, American Apparel, the National Children’s Choir, and Jerome Meyer. Additionally, he was a member of the Los Angeles Contemporary Dance Company. He has taught classes at The ³Ô¹Ï´ïÈË of Dayton, The ³Ô¹Ï´ïÈË of Southern California, Point Park ³Ô¹Ï´ïÈË, and Columbia College. As a producer, Michael has self-produced multiple dance-theater works and performing arts events. Michael is also a Laban/Bartenieff Movement Analyst © and ABT certified ballet instructor.
